These Ingredients Found In Face Tanning Products Will Shock You!
How often do you buy products and not read the ingredient list on the back of the packaging? Don't worry... we've all been guilty of it. There's simply not enough hours in the day to research every single product we consume or apply to our skin.
So to save you the trouble of having to do your own research, we've done it for you and what we've uncovered will astound you!
We found that so many face tans in the Australian and global beauty market, contain potentially harmful ingredients!
Some products contain colour additives that interact with the skin's chemistry, causing it to look darker. Instead of colour additives you should look for tanning products that contain dihydroxyacetone (aka DHA). This ingredient is approved by the TGA (the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration). When combined with the natural amino acids in your skin, DHA causes a browning reaction which gives you a sunless tan. At Paradiso Skin we use 100% natural DHA.
During our research we found some hugely problematic ingredients contained in competitor face tanning products including ethanol, methanol, ethyl alcohol, denatured alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, SD alcohol, and benzyl alcohol. These ingredients can strip your skin of it's own natural oils and cause drying. With chronic use, it could disrupt your skin's barrier. A disrupted barrier allows moisture to escape skin and gives potential irritants entry in, resulting in redness and inflamed skin.
